During the conference “Quality Education – Effective Hromada”, the Swedish-Ukrainian Polaris Programme “Supporting Multilevel Governance in Ukraine” announced nine hromadas that received STEM laboratories — equipment sets for teaching natural sciences and technology. This support is part of the broader assistance Polaris provides to 22 partner hromadas in developing local educational solutions and planning their school networks.

Hromadas that received STEM laboratories:

  • Kozelets Settlement Hromada – Chernihiv Oblast

  • Poltava City Hromada – Poltava Oblast

  • Obukhiv City Hromada – Kyiv Oblast

  • Lubny City Hromada – Poltava Oblast

  • Kobleve Rural Hromada – Mykolaiv Oblast

  • Vyzhnytsia City Hromada – Chernivtsi Oblast

  • Ovidiopol Settlement Hromada – Odesa Oblast

  • Pochaiv City Hromada – Ternopil Oblast

  • Malovyskivska City Hromada – Kirovohrad Oblast

The STEM laboratories provided to the hromadas will help schools implement modern approaches to teaching science, mathematics and technology. The kits include equipment for practical experiments in physics, chemistry, biology, and technology, enabling students to learn through experimentation, modelling, and hands-on interaction. This will support the development of competencies essential for further education, professional growth, and participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction.

The Programme will continue offering practical support to partner hromadas, including educational equipment and other tools for development.

The “Quality Education – Effective Hromada” conference, organised by the Polaris Programme in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, brought together Government representatives, specialists from educational departments of hromadas and oblasts, and representatives of national educational institutions. The event presented and discussed key Polaris achievements in strengthening the capacity of the education system, the Ministry’s approach to allocating the 2026 education subvention, and findings from the recent study on early childhood education. A recording of the conference is available via the link.
