Polaris Programme experts have launched a series of meetings and the signing of Memoranda of Cooperation in the area of education at the local and regional levels with partner hromadas of the second wave.

On 8 September, as part of the Polaris leadership’s working visit to Kharkiv oblast, the first memorandum was signed in Valky hromada with the participation of representatives from SALAR International in Stockholm. The document marks a new stage of partnership, providing support for the hromada in developing its educational network, introducing modern approaches to education management, and strengthening stakeholder engagement.
Susanna Dellans, Team Lead of the Polaris team and SALAR International Representative in Ukraine, emphasised: “Polaris supports hromadas that strive to advance education despite the challenging wartime circumstances. Valky hromada is an example of how local efforts can lay the foundation for a resilient education system. Sweden is ready to support this path with expertise and partnership.”

In turn, Valky Mayor Valerii Skrypnichenko noted: “Education is the first area of cooperation between Valky hromada and the Polaris team. We wanted to begin our joint work with this priority because we understand the importance of a quality education process for more than two thousand children in our hromada.”
Polaris continues to expand its network of partnerships and supports hromadas in creating modern, accessible, and effective education systems. Within the “Education on the Local and Regional Level” area, the Programme is already working with 22 hromadas, assisting their efforts to strengthen quality school networks and implement the senior secondary school reform — one of the key elements in modernising Ukrainian education.
