20 communities received digital equipment for their starostas' districts from the Polaris programme

As part of the crisis support provided to communities, the Polaris Programme continues to strengthen the capacity of local self-government bodies. In particular, in February 2026, 20 partner communities received modern computers and digital equipment to improve the quality and accessibility of public services in the starostas' districts (remote settlements).

This includes laptops, multifunction devices, portable printers and scanners, projectors, UPS units, routers and more. In addition, the communities received portable batteries, car inverters, audio headsets and related accessories to organise their work, including the provision of on-site services.

The technical support will enable starostas' districts to work more efficiently with registers, organise document flow more effectively and expand residents’ access to services.

This equipment is part of a comprehensive support programme for communities under the ‘Development of the Institutional Capacity of the Institute of Starostas’ initiative. This initiative combines technical assistance with expert guidance, training and the exchange of best practice, all aimed at strengthening the capacity of local self-government bodies.
