Democratic and member-driven Local Self-Government Associations as the foundation for the development of multilevel governance system
What We Do
Strengthening the role of associations in three areas:
- Capacity development of associations as key actors in the multi-level management system;
- Strengthening multi-level and cross-sectoral dialogue;
- Enhancing evidence-based policymaking and implementation of relevant decentralisation and sector strategies.
How We Act
We strive to implement a member-driven approach, underpinned by principles of democratic, transparency and gender-equality. These perspectives are integrated into our methodologies and guidelines developed for the programme. Our experts help associations, and their regional teams implement methods to strengthen the voice of hromadas, share practices and improve local government services for hromada residents.
Key Priorities
- Promote and facilitate democracy leadership and member-driven approaches in decision-making by All-Ukrainian associations and communication with its regional teams and its members;
- Strengthen the capacity of all-Ukrainian associations to consolidate their political voice to protect the interests and sustainable development of territories and regions;
- Promote the exchange of best practices, partnership between hromadas and regions to make key decisions and develop policies in the interests of their residents.
